Lou Smith (Previously Lauren M. Smith) is a composer from Louisville KY. They are interested in chamber music, theatre, improv, and cross-discipline collaboration.

They have studied music composition with Marc Satterwhite, John Ritz, Steve Rouse, and Lauren Spavelko, and has had lessons with Bent Sørensen, Amy Williams, and Joel Bons.
As a playwright, Lou has written a number of short works and is currently developing their first full length production.
They attended the Playwright's Workshop at UC College-Conservatory of Music in 2019 where their ten-minute play about the ghosts was presented as a staged reading.
They have studied operatic literature with Michael Ramach at the University of Louisville where they received their B.A. in Music.
